How Use ChatGPT

Editorial policy

Our guides are made to help a reader finish a task and understand the result.

What we cover

We select questions that can receive a distinct, useful answer. A guide should explain when a workflow helps, the material it needs, how to carry it out and what to verify. Closely related wording belongs in the same answer when the work is essentially the same.

Evidence and change

Product capabilities, controls and access can change. When a guide depends on a current feature, we consult the relevant official documentation and review affected instructions when a meaningful change is known. Examples and general methods are marked by their function rather than presented as guaranteed behavior for every account.

We separate a source’s stated facts from our interpretation. Figures, prices, limits and availability require current support before they are treated as facts.

Judgment and commercial relationships

A useful guide can include an example, a practical preference or a recommendation. We distinguish those from verified product facts. Commercial relationships, advertising or affiliate links, when present, must be identifiable and must not control the conclusion of a guide.

Corrections

Material errors are investigated and corrected in the affected page. See the corrections page for how to report one and how updates are described.
